When first starting to stockpile a little extra emergency food it can be a daunting task. Many people think that they need to rush out and spend a bunch of money that they don't have all at once. This simply is not true. You can create a good stockpile a little at a time. The thing to remember is to balance what you purchase. In other words, don't buy a whole bunch of one thing and nothing else. If you were forced to use that extra you would quickly tire of eating the same thing over and over. So today's stockpiling tip is to commit 10.00 at each shopping trip to buy a few extra of the things that you are buying anyway. Here is an example below:
1 extra box of cereal
1 extra bag of frozen veggies
1 extra bag of beans
1 extra bag of rice
1 extra box of pasta
1 extra can of veggies
1 extra can of tuna
1 extra box of oatmeal
If you do this each time you shop then you will have a little extra of everything your family eats and the expense will be painless.
