Thyroid Health Day 3

Well, yesterday was a good day. I really felt good for the first time in a very long time. Although, here it is 4:00 in the morning and I have been awake for the past hour. Just another sign that you can't fix something that has been wearing itself out for the past 8 years. It will take time for my adrenal glands to rest and heal so that I am not experiencing symptoms of adrenal fatigue. I did find out though that I am sensitive to licorice root, which I knew could be a possibility. My adrenal support has licorice root in it and when I took a whole pill yesterday morning my blood pressure went up and I developed a headache. However, it went away within about an hour and I felt better. So my afternoon dose I only took half a pill and experienced no problems. I did have more energy yesterday and didn't experience my typical daily crash. I did some work around here then went to the feed store and the grocery store which normally will completely wipe me out. However, while I was a little tired I didn't crash. That to me was amazing. Now, if I can just get back to getting a full nights sleep. I don't think I am going to continue feeling great with only 5 hours of sleep a night. We will see how today goes. Blessings, Kat

I have had bona fide thyroid disease for years. I felt really terrible for a number of years before I was diagnosed. Please be aware that the parameters used to diagnose hypothyrodism were changed a few years ago, so that people who had previously fallen in the "normal " range were now considered to be ill. Unfortunately, I can't recall when the test parameters were changed, but it could have been after you were tested. You might want to consider be tested again if it has been a long time since you had one. Maybe they'd find you have a thryroid condition after all!

The pill I was prescribed made me feel much better OVERNIGHT! I was told it would take a week or two, but it wss overnight! I'm not 100%
but the improvement is good enough for me. Good luck.

Yes, I have my thyroid tested every year despite the fact that my doctor sees no point in it and have at times had to pay for the test myself when my insurance wouldn't cover it based on previous tests. All my numbers fall in the normal range even under the new parameters. The problem is that while I might have enough T-4 production and my blood shows that there is plenty of T-3. What they don't see is that the T-3 is most likely RT-3 which means that my cells are not using the T-4 to convert to useable T-3. Yes, I have felt a huge difference and almost feel human again. I simply can't believe how good I feel since I started taking care of the issue myself. I don't always recommend taking matters into your own hands, but when doctors fail you one has to do something. Doctors used to treat by symptoms, and I was classic hypothyroid, but now they use blood tests which they don't really understand as long as the "numbers" fall within a parameter that they have been told is normal. I also went through 3 different doctors who all told me I was normal, even though I knew I wasn't.
