Choosing to Homeschool

My oldest started school off in a conventional private school. From day one we had problems and the problems continued even after changing to a different school. I won't go into the problems and their sources right now other than to say we eventually felt that we could better educate her at home. At home we could meet her needs, and the school agreed. So home she came. It was the best decision we ever made. She is happy and learning and we are happy and learning. Yes, homeschooling parents learn all sorts of things. One of the greatest things we learn is patience and flexibility. One of the other things we learn is that it is not a journey for everyone. Even though it brings much joy it is hard work. We feel that the hard work is worth it and frankly I don't mind hard work. I believe that hard work brings satisfaction and joy into ones life. Low self- esteem wouldn't be so prevalent if everyone learned to see the value of hard work. Anyway, I am going off on a tangent as I usually do. We chose to homeschool and I look forward to helping any parent thinking about this journey or those already on the journey.
