It seems to be the way of the future - new cars, cool tattoos, smokes and drinks, vacations ... Really, can I just quit now and sign up?
Well, I think I have a couple more years, but if things don't change with the next election, I certainly may, just be done. I had a neighbor whining to me that her adult son( in his late 40's) who's been unemployed more than employed since we've lived here( 11yrs) and how he's so depressed he was going to have to cut back because his unemployment and disability were being cut off. She went on to say he had a cell phone( with all the do dads), digital TV, digital internet for all three of his computers, one of which has a screen that is 42", blah, blah blah is all I heard after all of that because I has fumes coming out my ears. I told her he had more than we did and both my husband, myself and daughter work our tails off to afford what we have and he's been unemployed and on disability for years now, something is wrong with that picture and he'd better learn the phrase work or starve, because that day was coming soon for him and the alike. I also assured her that if people like him came here and thought they were going to steal from us they were going to learn a really hard lesson, now if they wanted to come and work for something that's another story.

Keep hanging in there, what is pinching us so hard is the feed costs for our animals, but we're going to expand the garden and plant more root crops and animal friendly crops to help supplement our feed costs. Hay is what I'm worried about, first of all there is a shortage here and secondly because of the shortage it's selling for $200-$250 a ton. So we're cutting back on animals, just enough for our needs, maybe
some to sell, to help with feed costs*sigh* HUGS and hang in there, we're all feeling the pinch and the frustration. A relative has been on welfare/social security since she was 18 years old. She did work for two years and then claimed that her body hurts. She now lives on SSI, (government income for those who haven't worked long enough to make it for disability) from 18 to the age of 46...work free and to boot her and her husband have a carpenter business on the side, tax free, under the table. They sale their medication that the government pays for and reap in hundreds of dollars from that..one day she will get caught, if only the government would go back to checking up on people and make field visitation as they did many years ago. So much waste on those that say they can't and the doctors go along with them I hope that one day those that depend on social security that just don't want to work will have no checks to count on just like for when I retire there's doubt that social security will be there for me.PixieLady57https://www.blogger.com/profile/00362784960574819173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-652834985543565257.post-64409797138110166822013-02-06T08:19:44.882-06:002013-02-06T08:19:44.882-06:00I understand where you are coming from. My Rooste...I understand where you are coming from. My Rooster has got hit with the lovely new tax and he got a cut in hours. Ouch. Double punch.

We live in an apartment complex. Guys sit outside all day long and talk crap and smoke. Not one of them has a job. It makes me so mad. Their kids have brand new clothes (designer), they have new cars, and carry an amazing amount of groceries into the house. They can also go to the local churches and cry poor mouth and the churches give them more.

I know we are suppose to help our neighbors. But where is the line on sheer laziness?
